After Party

Well our Thanksgiving was great. We did what all folks do Eat and then fall asleep. I guess I am still on Italy time because I have been up since 3:15 this morning so I decided to do what I do best and that ladies and gentleman is shop. and shop is what I did I did the Black Friday mess all in the comforts of my home. My purchases should be arriving sometime in the next 2 weeks. I am loving this.

Happy Thanksgiving family, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves since you all stood us up; but it is al good. We are on our way to the market now to get our Thanksgiving food. We are having baked mac, candid yams, and the such.

Hey, we are officially on our way to the airport so this will be the last blog for the time being. Yes I know I need to be hated on today I really not have had any haters today. As for Thanksgiving they only take Cash no Credit. and guess what they do sell pizza good pizza too.

..and ya'll got me looking at this elaborate food menu. It looks good but you know "those" people dont use any seasonings so it probably tastes like crap.

Now that Misha has mentioned it, I want the usual. I will make the candied yams. so that leaves fish/chicken, brocc, bak mac, and cake. I believe this is a small enough menu so we do not get overwhelmed.

Hi Family, Happy Thanksgiving. I need not say no more. This speaks for itself. This is all at Whole Foods which is open on Wednesday until 10pm and Thanksgiving Day until 3. No we will not be going hungry.

I'm on Vaaaacaaaation, I'm on Vaaaaccccaaaaaation!!!

Yes everyone, I am officially on vacation! I am taking a much needed break from the "Big O" which by the way I am happy to share with my family that I will be the assistant producer to my director working on the Avon productions. So what's the big deal you ask? Well, funny you should ask:) Only a selected few get a chance to work along side the queen bee and I am that chosen individual ladies and gentleman. And to add to that, there is a strong possibility I will be in Poland for December to do an Avon shot. More than likely I will probably be the only "block" person there because, well to be honest with you, we are not the biggest fans of the cold!" but W.T.H I'm going for the experience and the stamp on my passport. Speaking of passport, our European travels start in a matter of two days? How excited am I! Like sip and dip! I am going to finally experience each page of my art history book or at least try. Here's a little trivia: Who were the first individual to invent the apartment? No, it's not Barbara Jordan. It was the Romans! And while I am walking around I am going to check out just how much Julius Caesar was digging on the original diva Cleopatra. And lastly, I feel the need to check into the past of one the greatest African warrior of all history-- Hannibal Barkus, who conquered Italy for 15 years. aaaah history- don't you just love it.

Where is everyone?

I have been here a couple times over the last few days and no one has posted.

This is my first blog from school. Being the estudious person I am, I came to do my homework only to find that classes are being held in each of the 3 labs that have Auto CAD on the computers. This school sucks.

First, there should be more labs and two should not hold classes so students are able to have computer access at all times. Second, every design related program (ie. photoshop, CAD, 3dMax, etc.) should be installed on each computer so no one is limited. For a design/art school, they have poor design skills. Do you know they dont even consult the design professionals who are employed by the school?!

I asked my teacher this morning...they school doenst even consult the very architechts and designers that they employ. They just hand the projects to other architechs to create the buildings. The hired architechts dont even ask the teaching arch's what they need in the class-shame.

Anyway, my office plan turned out great, I have a few adjustments, but Im well on my way. And today I just received another project. I have to leave my job. Between teaching my kids and learning my trade, I am on overload. Any suggestions?

Hey Keya!

Hi family

I have been procrastinating on my office design project. I used Saturday as a much needed mental relief day ( no jokes please ).

The days are getting cold and short and the work load is still the same; if not more. I went to work with a little girl this morning (yes, a Saturday morning) whose parents have no follow thru. Then after a successful session, I went home. I could not relax so I showered, then Keya and I decided we needed breakfast; to Bickford's we went. Breakfast was great, but the end it was 2:30 and I promised Nari I would take him to the park. He had not been in two whole days!
At the park, there was a boxer who was in heat, and Nari just knew it was him time to become a man. He chased her all over the park and punked every other male who tried to claim his piece. That's my boy! Finally I had had enough and we left.
Now 3:30, there's no way Im going to begin working. Keya had gone to home depot to get plastic for the windows because we keep waking up in cold sweats. However, with plastic, one must determine whether they want their blinds open or closed. We have plants so we want them open. Then began my search for curtains.
Ikea was packed to the brim with holidayers and so Ipodded my way through. No curtains, so I left. Then I saw an fabric outlet closeout sale, great material, but I had to realize I wasn't going to make any of the great ideas of which I had thought. So, none of you will be receiving wool scarves. Then my sister mentioned I should use my old curtains. I agreed, and used the money I would have spent towards a new sweater, scarf, and bra.
Later, Keya and I got tipsy at our favorite neighborhood restaurant and avoided friends we were suppose to hang out with!

Yup, its official I am on vacation. I do not want to see an LVA, SPNM or any other abbreviated name dealing with work. No email, Nophone calls nada. Counting down the days for me to sit in an Italy bar sipping espresso, NOT. I'll do a latte. but first Crocketts here I come.

I've had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Today was the day from hell, It started off with me doing the dreaded audit that I hate to do every year around this time. Then to go to the doctors who by the way was a Brown Med Student. ( You think that should have given me a clue? So anyway she took my blood pressure and it was sky high. So back on the pills again. So I told her that I have what I thought was the SUPER BUG but it only turned out to be a boil under my arm. So super nurse came running in the office and said oh they can take you right now. Who can do what? Oh they can take you over at the medical building to get that surgically removed. Oh is that so, well I am not having nothing surgically removed not today anyway. Lady did you not hear me when I said I was going to Italy? No, I will not be looking Miko Fabolous if I have bandages under my arm with mess oozing out. Oh no ____! So did I get the hint then? No. So then the doctor (student) said oh I will give her some anitbiotics and she can have it done when she comes back. So I take the prescriptions and say doctor (student) umm who's prescription is this? Why yours she replies. I said oh cause my name is not Yvette Bertram. So did I get the hint then? No so good ole doc gives me another prescription and says go ahead and have this filled and you will be fine. So I take to CVS to get filled and then off to SPNM (Calvery) So why did I go there just to get more angry. Well I walk into the office where a client was calling one of my staff people a Black BI and I said who what when why how. I said lady if you knew what was good for you. You will leave this establishment now. NOW! and she dare replied who are you. Moi! I am the head BLACK BI here. and you my dear are dismissed no food no help no nada nothing zilch zippo. what ever langugae you want to hear it in get to steppin. Add another hater to my list. So as I sit in my little office half listening to this women go on and on about who know what cause I really am not paying her any mind. I finally say to her I sorry I really am not paying any attention to you cause I am just too busy. Now I know that was mean but dang can a sister just rest for a minute before the bombard you with dumb questions. People like to talk just to hear themselves talk. So by then I get a phone call from Will telling me that the Doctor (student) is trying to call me to tell me that they gave me Penicillion. Now everyone in the world knows I am allergic to Penicillion. So I go to the drug store to pick the the scripts and then the pharmacist tells me oh this is not penicillon I said now who should I beleive. the doctor(student) or the pharmacist (from africa). I left it all there and took what I knew which was my blood pressure meds.

Canon Power Shot S400

Well, I finally decided it was time to take a look at the Camera that has been lying around in non working order. I sat down jumped on the famous Google website and let my fingers do the walking throug cyber space. And low n behold what did I find, Canon has a recall on my camera. It knows of the all too famous "Memory Card Error" and will fix and or replace this for free. Now I ask myself. Self, you are slipping why did it take you 1 year 2 months and 29 days to ask Google. Only dumb people answer themselves back, so I had no reply. :) But none the less I must now go out and buy a digital throw away for my trip to Italy. Isn't it strange that I also have a brother in law that is a photagrapher and I had to do this research. "Funny you should mention this"

Misha & I had the pleasure of viewing this amazing film. Directed by a very talent Africa American, Kasi Lemmons. Not only is this a true story, but it spot lights the great untold stories within our culture. If you have the time, this is a must see film.

It's the Countdown Baby!!!

I guess by now we are all aware of Yvette and my mini trip to Italy. All I can say at this point, is the excitement is escalating more and more as the week starts and moves towards the end. Yvette will be traveling here, to The Glen, on this Friday (by hook or crook) and my last day of work in the following Monday. Glory to be a vacation!!! We have done an sufficant amount of reseach,(Thank you God for Google) with an equal amount of personal interviews with individuals that have made a recent or regular trip over. In my fantasy shopping my purchases consisted of Prada, Gucci, and something swank made by an independent designer. But, reality reminds me that the Euro is nothing and I'll be lucky to return with a good bottle of Olive Oil. No worries, there is always the next time.

On a different note, Starbucks is under construction right next to the Bottle King! I may make this my new work office.

Shopping Spree

Yes, I went on a shopping spree. I was a DIVA in its self. I sass shayed my self right into Lane Bryant and said can you hold my bags and start a dressing room for me because I am going to shop till I drop. And shop I did, 4 hours later I walked out of that store knowing all sales ladies. They held all of my bags in their office until I finished shopping inside other parts of the mall. I felt like I was on top of the world. So 5 shopping bags later I went home and crashed. I think if we did not have that Nor'Easter I would have continued like there was no tomorrow. I still had over 300 left to spend; So I thought to myself there is always tomorrow :)

Will Has a Job

Yup, That's right Will has a job. He works for a place called Jones Warehouse Moving Company. He had this job before and they laid him off so now he is back. He likes it, I guess cause he likes money. He is still out there looking to see if something better comes along; for this is only a temp job and we all know how temp jobs work.
